31 Mar Doctor-assisted suicide bill under discussion in Maine
A bill to give Mainers who are terminally ill the right to end their lives with the help of a doctor is making its way through the state house.
The “Death With Dignity” bill, introduced by Republican State Sen. Roger Katz, is currently in committee.
Katz is scheduled to hold a news conference about the bill Tuesday.
The bill, which is modeled after one already on the books in Vermont, gives terminally ill individuals the ability to ask a doctor for a lethal dose of medication.
