Dear Friend,

As we mourn the loss of our late president, JJ Hanson, champion for patients and tireless opponent of assisted suicide laws, we are resolved to carry on his mission with purpose.

Assisted suicide laws are dangerous because they make suicide a medical treatment, prescribed by your doctor and paid for by your insurance company, who can deny you coverage for real treatment and offer you this cheap alternative instead.

The Patients Rights Action Fund (PRAF) and our many allies are working tirelessly to stop this drive toward government-sanctioned suicide. There are only a small handful of states that have legalized — together with your help, will continue to stem the tide. Thank you for your support to protect America from the insidious public policy of assisted suicide!

As you know, we are now on the offensive federally with H.Con.Res.80 — a bill “expressing the sense of the Congress that assisted suicide puts everyone, including those most vulnerable, at risk of deadly harm and undermines the integrity of the health care system.” This landmark legislation is a sweeping first step to protecting everyone in America from these dangerous laws.

We must continue the fight in JJ’s honor. Please consider a generous monthly gift to the Patients’ Rights Action Fund. Be it $10, $25, $50 per month, or whatever your means allow — small gifts add up, and we can’t do it without you.

Every voice in this fight matters. YOUR support would enable us to amplify the eloquent testimony of those who understand the dangers of legalizing assisted suicide the most: physicians, people with disabilities, and the terminally ill.

Respectfully,

Matt Vallière
Executive Director
Patients’ Rights Action Fund
