Physician-assisted suicide is not the answer to better end-of life care

In the discussion about physician assisted suicide, we can learn from the data in other states and other countries. And, we should learn from initiatives and workgroups right here in Delaware.

Nationally, the number of patients who seek physician assisted suicide remains extremely small. Furthermore, many of the patients who seek and are approved for this controversial prescription, ultimately do not take the lethal dose of medication.

So we would ask, what is the true reason why patients resort to this option?
