HB 5572 purports to provide a legal mechanism under which certain patients are able to request assistance from a physician in committing suicide. This usually involves the prescription of lethal medications that patients will “self-administer.”  There are many and significant problems with the bill’s language that endanger the vulnerable, sick, and disabled.
